Thanks for the reply Terrence! I have an easy solution for the home/work thing. Foursquare could build that into your settings and then allow people to check into home or work. They could even create a new mayor-like status for your place that is home or work flagged in your settings. Personally I don't do the home thing, but we have some epic mayoral battles that go on at TDS Telecom and honestly it makes foursquare a "fun" thing to do. Now in our case it is not a store front and the only realistic mayor competition would be employees so it makes more sense, but I agree that it is lame when an employee prevents rewarding great customers cause they whore the mayorship.

I also see where you're coming from on the event check in front. It will be interesting to see how they figure it all out if they do implement sub-venues.

well stated. i do get frustrated when it says there's nothing around me or it cant find the location i search for. which i think is mostly due to foursquare downtime (linked to that rapid growth you mentioned). i dont know if i agree with the event / venue idea. i know i dont disagree. i think read somewhere that they are going to start a sub-venue option. so you can check into lets say, farmers market but it knows thats a part of the state capitol. but should the mayor of henry maier festival park be the mayor of summerfest and festa italiano, etc etc? im not sure. my biggest pet peeve (besides the obvious cheaters) is home and work check ins. but there's definitely some gray area surrounding all of this. the home thing is fine, if u want to be the mayor of your house; congrats, but i hate having to scroll past your stupid apt when i want to check into the coffee shop. i recently got into a mayorwar @ beans n cream coffee shop (which offers a 15% discount to the mayor). i have about 60+ check ins but i wasnt the mayor for a while because one of the workers would just check in whenever they had a shift. that doesnt seem fair. but then where does it stop? i check into the hotel when i go to DJ a wedding.. is that fair? if im a vending machine filler upper guy should i be allowed to check into any business i put chips in? i think it'd be nice if 4square would lay out some ground rules on proper check-in etiquette. maybe they dont even know the answers to it. or maybe theyre waiting to see how it all plays out. either way, your points are valid and its a great service i dont intend to stop using any time soon.

oh also, heck yeah on the MC Frontalot meetup!

@jmtenny - anyone who makes a wedding speech reference about blessing those affected by terrorism is missing the point of that particular speech and clearly needs help. Fortunately I know where to get that help ;-)

It was a fun project! I was incorrect when I said that was the condensor that was just hanging in there; it was likely a transmission cooler but oh well; I didn't bother tracing the lines. For those taking notes ended up needing 2.5 gallons of antifreeze instead of 2 as the ehow article recommended.

If I view a profile and look at who they are following I can see the name but not the email of that individual. However, if I am also following them and have them as a contact their email address shows up. If I'm following them but they are not a contact their email address doesn't show up.
