Music is the rhythm of life

February 3, 2010 – 7:20 am
If you have ever checked out my blog in the past you would likely have noticed that music plays a major role in my life. I have so many various music ventures that I thought it would be cool to highlight each one of them in one place. Shamelessly I would recommend you check out all the different varieties of musical offerings I have. First is my solo music stuff. This is published in the my music section of my site. Most of this music is Electronica in nature. Almost all of it was produced using Reason 4 (and Reason 2.5 and 3 before that). Second is my hip hop music. I started a group with my Brother-in-law and some of his family members called The MOB Crew. We also go by the name Midwest Millionaires some times to mix it up. Just ...

Feeling old

January 26, 2010 – 7:09 am
Well I officially have made it to my 32nd birthday. While it may not feel old to some, it feels old to me. I woke up this morning and immediately started wondering if there would ever be a time where I would have enough hours in a day to complete everything I both need to do and want to do? I don't think this early morning revelation was due to today being my actual birthday, as I often have some of my clear thoughts in the morning, but it was timely. Lately I have been wondering a lot about some of the things I really want to do in life. I suppose you could call is a bucket list of sorts. Some of the things are totally irrational, but I have always been interested in doing them. One such example is I have always wanted to make a movie and ...

I highly recommend this…

January 6, 2010 – 8:09 am
I know what your thinking, you recommend what?  One of my favorite things to read on some other blogs I frequent is a good product review and recommendation. I am also trying to hold true to my promise to myself to be more active on the blog for 2010 and felt that this would be a good topic to share. With all the crazy sickness going around taking one's temperature is pretty important to gauge if your body is impacted by a certain sickness. Well my family has always been the traditional stick-it-under-your-tongue thermometer people, but that all changed last week when we got an Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer. Here is a link to the exact model on Amazon that we got: Amazon.com Widgets This thing is so awesome and it makes me wonder how we managed for so long with the old fashioned thermometer we had been using. You literally ...

Wow, is it 2010 already?

January 2, 2010 – 12:48 pm
Actually it is 2 days into the new decade, go figure. It is crazy to think of all of the amazing things that have happened to me in the last decade. Two of the best and most important things to ever happen to me happened in the last decade; I got married and my son Gabriel was born. Marcia and I have now been together for 13 years now and married 7 1/2 years. Gabe is now almost 5 years old and brings me more joy then just about anything in the whole world. Marcia and I also just recently announced that we are expecting our second child in July of 2010! Professionally the last 10 years have been a wild roller coaster that I don't think I'll ever forget. When I was welcoming in 2000 at work ensuring that the company didn't come crumbling to it's knees I thought I ...

Improving your bowling scores

October 12, 2009 – 8:24 pm
I have had this post sitting around for a while and just never posted it. Here are 4 tips that could help every new bowler For those who don't know I am a pretty avid bowler. I used to suck pretty bad, but I can hold my own now. I hold an average that is right around 185, but when I was in more competitive leagues I have held 200+ averages. I mainly bowl for fun now, even the leagues I have been in recently have had a significantly more fun-based focus. Still I sympathize with folks who are newer to bowling and with that I have these tips for any newer bowler looking to add a few more points to their score. 1. Shoes - Buy your own pair! There are really decent shoes available at the sub $30 starter level. Plus if you bowl with any frequency your investment ...

Boxee on Apple TV

September 27, 2009 – 5:15 pm
Boxee on the Apple TV: Initial Impressions The following is an account of my experience with the Apple TV. I had been eying this device for a while and recently had an opportunity to get one that I couldn't turn down. My interest in the Apple TV was to use it as a media center for my collection of movies and TV shows. Up until I got the Apple TV my primary media center was a Western Digital Media Player (which I'll refer to as the WD-MP). The WD-MP device has served it's purpose perfectly but has a few major flaws that consistently had me looking at other devices. What is Boxee you ask? So it appears I may have gotten a bit ahead of myself. Boxee is a Media Center software platform that is built with a social networking aspect. Boxee plays media from your computer and other devices in your ...
